Which Core Internet Marketing Tools do you use?

Core Internet marketing tools are the backbone of many successful IMs. It’s no secret that to be successful as an internet marketer you need a set of tried and tested strategies. A lot’s been said lately about the state of world economy and there is no doubt that people are tightening their belts, but that doesn’t mean that there is no money being spent, you just have to work harder to find out where it’s been spent.

Just like any other existing industry, Internet marketing has its own set of marketing tools. If you are not new to the world of Internet marketing then many of these marketing tools will be quite familiar to you. SEO software, content management services, affiliate marketing programs, auto responders, and so on.

The list will continue to expand as the industry grows.

Internet marketing also possesses other non traditional and effective marketing tools that you should be using to maximize your potential. These online marketing tools can be integrated seamlessly into your online business system.

Here is the quick rundown of some of the Internet marketing tools with some pointers for using them with your own particular system.

DOMAIN NAME: This can so easily be overlooked by a lot of newbie’s, your domain name is your first and best Internet marketing tool that you must get right. Picking the right domain name will set you on your way towards success but getting it wrong will put you back and leave you out of pocket.

What should you consider when picking your own domain name?

If you can, pick a short memorable keyword relevant domain name. Picking a domain name that is relevant to your main keyword or words will help you get a higher search engine page ranking. It can also be an ideal promotional tool for potential clients that want to do business with you.

Internet marketing experts suggest that you should set up a particular server for your domain. One server will only carry one domain, this is not always suitable for a lot of people, but it only costs you an extra $2 per month to set up a separate IP address. With hosting companies you can typically have your domain name co-hosting hundreds of domains and sub-domains on a single server. Since all domains are under the same server, this may result in adverse consequences especially if one of the domains is allegedly spamming or behaving unscrupulously. So it’s wise that you have a separate IP address for each domain name or at the very least one separate IP address. Checkout your Web hosting companies price packages, this is a viable working model that will prove itself over time.

KEYWORDS: this is what people type into search engines to locate information or things that they are looking for. Your keywords are one of the most important elements in your online marketing business. So it goes without saying, you need to pick the right keywords.

How do you find useful keywords for your Internet marketing business?

You must have access to keyword research tools or an online keyword generator that will help you pick the right keywords. These tools will give you useful information such as the number of searches made monthly either locally or globally, the degree of competition along with websites that are targeting such keywords. An ideal start for you if you haven’t yet tried keyword research is Google AdWords. You will come across many SEO keyword software applications that will promise you the world if you buy them, be careful. Yes some of these apps are excellent but costly, so try Google AdWords first and experiment with it.

ARTICLES: marketing your website can largely depend on organic SEO strategies. One simple strategy is to write and submit keyword relevant articles to article directories and Internet publishers. As article directories and Internet publishers displays your articles, you gain valuable links back to your website. Search engines follow these links and rank your website according to the keywords incorporated in these articles. This is a tried and proven SEO strategy and as long as you write quality keyword rich articles you can’t go wrong.

LIST: Pretty much any Internet marketing system is supported by a list. This is a database of contacts or individuals who have given you permission to communicate with them through email or newsletter. Most Internet marketers keep several databases for individual products that they are promoting. Apart from emails and newsletters you must also set up a database of affiliates that can help you promote and sell your products. Once you have acquired a large list of loyal subscribers and affiliates you can write you own cheques.

There are many ways to build your list from opt-in forms to JVs (Joint Ventures) you can also make use of many email safe lists, simply Google any number of email list keywords and you will find thousands of list building programs.

Information is KEY to your success so having the right strategies and tools goes a long way to bring you continued success.

How to make your Site/Blog “Click”

In essence, PPC advertising is all about bidding for the top or leading position on search engine results and listings. Advertisers do this by buying or bidding on keyword phrases that are relevant to their products or services – the higher the bid, the higher the spot on the search results, the more the people will find the ad (and click on it) to go to their websites (this is why some people call it “keyword auctioning”). Advertisers would then pay the bidding price every time a visitor clicks through the website.

Paying Someone Else To Write Your Articles This can be a great time saver and free up your schedule to concentrate on other important promotional tasks. Specify how many words you want in the article. Be precise, 300- 600 words is about right. If you specify 300-600, chances are that the article will end up closer to the 300 word mark than the 600 word mark. It may be a good idea to specify 400-600 words in order to get a 400 word article. Specify keyword density for the article. Keyword density is the number of times your keyword phrase is used in… Continue reading

  • This sounds more like marketing strategies rather than marketing tools. In any case…My tools or strategies primarily consist of organic seo and list building. I have found that driving targeted traffic to your lead capture page is an excellent way to build a quality list of potential customers.

@Online Money Making, It takes a whole lot of pressure off you when you have an affiliate network working for you. Having a big downline is why so many of the big IMs are so successful, don’t you think?

@Bill_Masson, Totally agree Bill. I have no where near the list or affiliate size the “gurus” have but over time things do grow and having your own band of affiliates is great. I think there is plenty of room for all of us , you just have to find your place.

@Online Money Making, There’s always room for more as you say and you know once you find the right slot that is profitable, STICK to it. :-)
