Monitor your website
Just for a change this blog post is about Desktop software applications to help you monitor, monetize and boost your productivity. Some of these applications are FREE to download along with membership and paid offers, please feel free to distribute them to your friends and leave a comment.
Monitoring your network
Let’s face it we all have down times online, and there is no such thing as 100% server uptime, as much as the hosting companies would have us believe. There are many free and paid services that you can use to monitor your network, I use Web CEO and Watchman Pro along with Pingdom.
Watchman Pro
Watchman Pro is another free software application that monitors any number of websites or blogs you may have. The free version has a preloaded ads splash page giving you the option to find out more or to ignore. It has a very simple and easy to use interface, just input your URLs and minimize to your desktop tray. Anytime you’re your site changes or is down it will alert you by flashing on and off.
I got this application off of AX Gold ages ago and it has done its job, you can upgrade and brand the software with your own offers, and giveaway. The latest version (v4) can be downloaded at cnet. The upgrade costs $9.95 which means you can brand the software. http://download.cnet.com/Watchman-Pro/3000-10247_4-10833187.html
I have written a couple of articles about Web CEO in the past and can only reiterate what a great program it is. As well as a whole host of SEO tools you can also set up email alerts to check your network for downtimes, it must be said though that the free version only allows you weekly performance checks and you will have to upgrade to get a more detailed alert and monitoring check.
Track your website’s uptime and performance with Pingdom who have recently introduced a free service that allows you one website/Blog to monitor. I quite like the set up of this service, the account is completely free but you will only be able to monitor one website or server. For your account to be kept alive you will need to log in to the Pingdom control panel at least once every 90 days. They have two other paid options,
Basic account: $9.95 per/month allows you 5 checks, 20 SMS alerts, unlimited email checks and unlimited contacts.
Business account: $39.95 per/month allows 30 checks, 200 SMS, unlimited email alerts and unlimited contacts.
So there you have it, there will be many more services available free or paid, please feel free to leave a comment and share your thoughts about your experiences.

You got a real nice list here. I particularly seem to like both the Watchman Pro and the Web CEO.
This is a really nice and useful list for site monitoring. What’s even better is that they’re free, which is really great! Thanks so much for sharing such a helpful post
